Habit Overhaul: Gratitude, Growth, and the Guts to Want More

Ever have that moment when you look at your life and know deep down something needs to change?

Maybe you want more of something.

Maybe you want less.

Or maybe you are craving something entirely different.

I have been feeling that lately. And while my life is full of blessings and abundance, I also know this: if you want different, you have to do different.

That is why I am in the middle of a habit overhaul.

Gratitude and Ambition Can Coexist

For a long time, I believed that wanting more meant I was ungrateful. But that is not true.

Gratitude and ambition are not opposites. They are partners in growth. You can love your life and still want to expand. You can appreciate where you are and still pursue your next level. Ambition is simply permission to grow.

Signs You Might Need a Habit Overhaul

If any of these feel familiar, it might be time for your own reset:

  • You get to the end of the day feeling unfulfilled, even when it has been good.

  • You fall into bed knowing tomorrow will look exactly like today and you dread it.

  • Things are fine, but you cannot shake the feeling there is more you are meant to give or experience.

My Habit Overhaul Plan

1. Reprogramming My Mind

I am reading The Ten Ancient Scrolls for Success twice a day for 10 months to build new mental patterns. When we are not intentional with what we feed our minds, they run on autopilot and I refuse to live on cruise control.

2. Sweating Every Day

Two days into this new habit, my 7-year-old son joined me in the home gym, sweatband and all. We spent 40 minutes cheering each other on. That moment reminded me what I really want: more of this. More strength, more connection, more joy. I'd sweat every day, happily, for THAT!

3. Practicing Daily Gratitude

I have started writing down 10 things I am grateful for each day. Gratitude changes the lens through which I see everything, and what we focus on grows.

4. Learning Something New Daily

As Alex Hormozi says, “Our greatest deficit is ignorance.” I am committed to closing that gap every single day and putting what I learn into practice.

If You Want Different, Do Different

The habits that got you here will not take you to your next level. Whether you start with one small shift or a full overhaul, remember:

Your life is the result of your habits. If you want different, you have to do different.

Ready to Take the Next Step?

If your habits are not leading you to the life you want, what would it look like to start your own habit overhaul?
