Prioritizing Faith and Spiritual Growth: A Plan for Deepening Your Connection with God

Faith isn’t always the easiest topic to discuss, especially when we’re questioning our beliefs, feeling distant from them, or unsure of where to start.

In the latest episode of Unjuggle the Struggle, I open up about a recent interaction where I was asked about my Faith and I share three specific things I’m prioritizing right now for my spiritual growth.

Whether you’re exploring your own faith, looking for a deeper connection, or just seeking guidance on how to incorporate more spiritual practices into your life, this post is for you.

We all face moments when our faith is challenged. But rather than letting those moments push us away from God, they can serve as powerful opportunities for growth—if we allow them. This blog post dives deeper into the conversation I had on the podcast, breaking down the steps I’m taking to intentionally nurture my relationship with God, and how you can do the same.

The Importance of Intentional Spiritual Growth

Spiritual growth doesn’t happen by accident—it requires intentionality, especially when life gets busy. We tend to focus on external achievements, business milestones, and personal goals, but our spiritual lives often get pushed aside in the process. However, I’ve found that deepening my faith is the key to true fulfillment and alignment with my purpose.

In my journey, I’ve realized that faith and growth go hand-in-hand. Spirituality isn’t just about beliefs; it’s about cultivating practices that help us live more in alignment with God’s plan for our lives.

It’s about surrendering to His will and trusting that His guidance will lead us to a deeper sense of peace and purpose.

3 Things I’m Prioritizing in My Spiritual Growth Right Now

1.Staying Curious and Deepening My Understanding of Jesus

In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to get caught up in the noise and forget about the importance of spiritual learning. That’s why I’m prioritizing staying curious and seeking a deeper understanding of Jesus. I’m intentionally reading more, asking questions, and leaning into the teachings that challenge me the most.

This isn’t about memorizing Bible verses, but about truly getting to know the heart of Jesus and applying His teachings to my life. I’ve found that when I dig deeper into my faith, it aligns me more closely with His will, and I begin to see the world and my purpose through His eyes.

How You Can Too:

  • Read the Bible. (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John walk us through the life and teachings of Jesus)

  • Ask questions and seek knowledge—growth comes from curiosity.

2.Acting in Surrender and Trusting God's Plan

There’s a powerful shift that happens when we choose to surrender (Instead of trying to control every outcome). I’m learning to let go of the illusion that I can plan every detail and I’m trusting that God’s plans for me are greater than any plans I can make.

Surrendering doesn’t mean giving up; it means choosing faith over fear.

When we trust that God is leading us on the best path, we start to release some of that weight of the world on our shoulders and allow Him to do the heavy lifting.

How You Can Too:

  • Reflect on areas of your life where you feel resistance or control, and pray for the strength to surrender.

  • Take small steps toward trusting that God’s timing is perfect, even if it doesn’t make sense right now.

3.Prioritizing Time with God: Daily Prayer, Reflection, and Connection

The third practice I’m prioritizing is making daily time for God. This has been a game changer for me. Just like any relationship, our connection with God needs time, attention, and nurturing. I’ve committed to carving out moments each day for prayer, reflection, and simply being present with Him.

It’s not always about having profound conversations or waiting for a divine revelation. Actually, MOST of the time it’s simply sitting in stillness, acknowledging His presence, and trusting that He’s with me, guiding me every step of the way.

How You Can Too:

  • Set aside time each day for prayer or quiet reflection.

  • Create a ritual that helps you connect—whether it’s journaling, walking in nature, or listening to worship music.

Making Space for Your Spiritual Journey

We all know how chaotic life can get—balancing work, family, and personal goals. But when we neglect our spiritual lives, we often feel a sense of emptiness that no external success can fill.

If you’re looking to deepen your faith and grow spiritually, remember that it’s not about perfection—it’s about progress. It’s about creating space for God to work in your life, allowing your faith to evolve, and trusting the process.

The more I made time for Him, the more I saw His plan unfold.

Faith and Growth Go Hand-in-Hand

In the same way that we build systems for our businesses to grow, we also need systems in our spiritual lives. These practices—staying curious, surrendering to God’s plan, and prioritizing time with Him—are the spiritual systems that allow us to deepen our faith, create alignment, and experience transformation.

I hope this post serves as a reminder that your faith journey is just as important as any other goal you’re pursuing. By prioritizing your spiritual growth, you open the door to a life that is truly aligned with God’s purpose for you.
